Welcome!

We sell new and secondhand books, and specialise in history - mainly military and local history, although there is also a good selection on transport and more general topics. If you can’t find the book you are looking for it’s always worth contacting us to see if it has just come in. We also buy books - good, relevant collections always considered. Occasionally we close down completely for a couple of weeks at a time. Any e-mail enquiries during such periods will receive an automated response and we will deal with your enquiries on return.

How to find a book

Use our Category menu (top) to narrow down your search. In most of our Categories you can page through many hundreds of books. The SEARCH box will search through all the pages of that Category for you.

Use our master
SEARCH page to search through ALL the Categories at once. You can choose which field to search in. Use Our Book Number to bring up just one book. Use the Author field, type in a name and all their books will appear. Searching in ALL fields will take a while and may produce hundreds of books.

Our next show is Reading Warfare on November 18/19th. Thank you to everyone who has continued to look , despite the software problems the site has been having. I think we are just about there now, except that I  I still can't get the search to give me all the book details if I search from the main page. I have to go to one of the catalogues first.
